First things first. This isn't the Dominican Republic. You won't find all-inclusive resorts or white sandy beaches on Dominica. But if you want stunning rainforest, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, flowers, birds, snorkelling, horse-riding and whale-watching then this little island in the Caribbean sea has it all, and more. It was the location for several scenes in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies but, miraculously, isn't over-run with tourists.
