Shopping in Dominica

Carib BasketsDominica's most distinctive indigenous memorabilia are the matted Carib crafts handmade from the larouma reed. These are available islandwide, but especially in the Carib Territory.

Hand-painted t-shirts, and indigenous pottery and carvings also make great gifts. One of the best ways to savor the true spirit of Dominica is our native spices, beverages, and cosmetics & natural soaps.

Our duty-free shops carry a range of luxury goods, including perfumes, jewelry, liquors, cigars, cigarettes and china that escape import and sales taxes. Shopping in Dominica is a tropical breeze: no congestion of elbowing throngs. Currency conversion is not a problem either: businesses accept US Dollars, Pounds and Euros. Shoppers do not need to travel far; most of the stores in the city are just a stroll from each other.
